Fairfax Matters | Community Independents for Fairfax, Sunshine Coast

Fairfax Matters

People before party. Long-term solutions before spin.

We’re a grassroots advocacy group of local Sunshine Coast residents — not a political party. Since 2024 we’ve been listening to our community, and we’re building the movement for 2028 and beyond.

What We Do

Kitchen-table conversations, surveys, market stalls and forums to hear what matters to you.

Elevating local issues — housing, climate, health, education and infrastructure.

Organise

Building a genuine grassroots movement of neighbours, friends and colleagues.

Hold Accountable

The Movement Beyond Elections

Fairfax Matters was never just about one candidate or one campaign. Over 16,000 voters backed Francine Wiig in the 2025 federal election — and while we didn’t win, the momentum was real. Our purpose continues: keeping representatives accountable, ensuring housing, climate, health, education and infrastructure aren’t ignored, and strengthening the national movement for community-backed independents.
